This plan assumes that you were unable to get away from Lowesmoor before 4 pm. [Please remember that the demonstration that we will be giving you will take at least 1.5 hours including the first lock.] In the early and late season the lack of daylight hours means that you would be unlikely to be able to cruise as far as Tibberton (alternative trip shown overleaf) on the first night, so here we offer you a gentle first afternoon! Just the two locks down to Diglis Basin, where you can turn round (just before the two wide locks that lead down to the River Severn) and moor up nearby. From here you can stroll into the city (along the river bank if you like) for the evening. Wide choice of restaurants and pubs etc.

We suggest an early start today, if you want to get to a good pub for lunch. Of course if you are happy to stop along the way and have lunch on board, then there is no hurry at all! Plenty of locks and countryside all the way, lead you up to Tibberton. Speed the Plough (01905 345602) and The Bridge Inn (01905 345874) are your lunch stop options. 4 more miles of lock free cruising bring you (via Dunhampstead tunnel) to Hanbury Wharf. You can turn round here in the entrance to the Droitwich Canal (under restoration) and you can enjoy an evening at the Eagle and Sun (01905 770130). We recommend that you book first. An alternative is to return to Dunhampstead and dine at The Firs (01905 774094). Booking essential here.

Today is spent retracing your journey to Worcester. If you get back early enough and fancy some extra activity, you can press on past Lowesmoor Wharf to Diglis Basin and then pop out onto the River Severn for a while. Make sure you are aware of what time the river locks close to ensure that you are able to return onto the canal today! Most customers choose to finish up mooring in Lowesmoor Wharf as it is very convenient for the city centre and saves you having to make an early start on the last morning.

Day 4.Finish

Monday morning, please vacate the boat by 9.30 am.

Notes

This route is not blessed with many shops and so those of you wishing to eat any meals aboard the boat will need to plan your shopping well in advance. If you plan to visit the supermarkets near Worcester, we suggest that you aim to arrive early and get your shopping done before you come to the boatyard to collect the boat.
